Works well in an enclosed outdoor post fixture. When I ordered this I wasn’t too sure if I’d be happy, with the mixed reviews and the overall lower light output than I originally wanted, however this bulb did have the auto on/off feature I was looking for. I needed to replace an older auto sensor with a CF bulb that would turn on, but not turn off for a good part of the day – who needs a light staying on during the day outside?!?!I’m glad I did go with this bulb after all! Does not light up at all during the day. Comes on about 10min before dusk. Does not light up at all during the day. Comes on 10min before dusk in my application – which does not get direct sunlight late in the day, and stays on during hours of darkness. Not a warm 2700K as given in the description though. Closer to the 4-5000K compact fluorescent it is replacing – or so it appears to me, so minus one star.It would be nice if it just flicked on for a moment when it received power just to confirm that it’s working – but it doesn’t.
