Solid, well built post This item arrived in perfect condition. The company must have improved their shipping method because many of the older reviews noted lots of problems with damage due to poor packing. This item came double boxed, and inside the inner box was several styrofoam sections that floated the post inside the inner box. The post was also wrapped in plastic. For those not sure The post itself is sturdy and well constructed. Mine came with a small horizontal dent near the foot but that wasn’t enough to make me consider sending it back. The cross beam that has been criticized in older reviews has been changed to aluminum construction vice plastic, which was a nice surprise. The gold end balls are still plastic, though.
