Suddenly, beautiful white light and only 16 watts! At the time I purchased these I didn’t see a review that said these buzz when dimmed. I don’t think they do for people with regular dimmer switches. For me they do, badly. I have tried 4 different brands and they all buzz when dimmed. These are the worse. I have one brand that I like because the buzzing is barely audible. All four brands do not buzz when at 100%. It is not completely the bulbs fault (loudness is different across the 4 brands). My Alexa compatible dimmer switch is to…
The journey from ancient incandescent light to today’s LED’s has been a difficult one. Along the way we were presented with compact fluorescent light bulbs (aka CFL’s) and any child in school could have told you they were a terrible idea. First, they don’t work very well with dimming switches. Secondly, they blink just as badly as the large fluorescent tubes your child deals with every day in school. Third, unlike the large tubes, the early CFL’s had a terrible, ugly yellow light. By the…
Replacing the energy efficient, but older compact fluorescent lights (CFL) with LED lights has always made me thankful for the many improvements in LEDs, starting with the instant-on, full-brightness that CFL’s didn’t have, and the slight edge in energy efficiency. In most lighting situations we’ve found 40 watt equivalents to not be quite bright enough, but these 60 watt equivalents (I still haven’t quite gotten used to the Lumens measurement) are plenty bright. They also don’t contain the…
