Fairly Durable, Solid Base & Cord, Adjustments….Not As Easy. I purchased this Brooder Clamp Lamp with Ceramic Base to specifically house my RubyLux Infrared Therapy Light (Bulb) that requires a ceramic base for high-wattage bulbs and the protecting housing for the heat from the lamp as well as the delicate nature of the Infrared Bulbs that *may* shatter easily and/or burn something if it were placed in a base that didn’t have this enclosure and reflective case. Excellent clamp lamp with a few nice touches in design upgrade. This lamp is the same lamp that baby bird rearing folks know and love from decades past. There is a small black rubber bit on each of the prongs of the face guard, which is a nice touch. There are small holes drilled in the bell of the lamp, which fit the ends of the prongs. I like this feature, as it seems more secure than the usual bent ends of the face guard that clamp over the outside of the bell.The clamp from the handle to the bell tightens securely with a screw. Ceramic base great, power ability great.. but SHORT CORD. Works well, has ceramic base, and supports 250 watt NIR near infrared lightblub so I’m happy with that since it was hard for me to find offline.It seems pretty sturdy but I’m sure there is a higher quality grade of metal/structure than this. The circular metal part came all bend up from shipment though, so if you’re picky about how it looks… know that might happen. I’m sure the bumps are mainly cosmetic but Im sure the bumps also slightly impact the way the light is sculpted…
