Reasonable construction, no LED driver circuitry Personally I would probably spend the money on a 12/24V compatible 4″ round instead of this because it appears to be using a resistive drive for the LED’s (not constant current LED driver). This means LED’s get brighter/dimmer with voltage and this can be non-optimum for LED life.They are constructed soundly, seem fairly bright, and coming with the pigtail/gromment is a plus. Let’s set the record straight: These fit in a 4-1/2″ hole, same as most DOT taillights. The 4″ number is a trade size designation. The company selling these has no clue as to the hole size, they are merely resellers, just a catalog number to them. Fortunatly, the correct info was obtained by reading the Amazon questions, even though some answers were wrong. These tail/brake lights are quite bright. They fit perfectly in the rubber housings. I used these to replace an older pair of LEDs that were not very bright. The brake light is noticeably brighter than the taillight.
