Most importantly, at the time I bought these bulbs the Amazon page is a bit confusing. When you click on the box that reads “Soft White 3000k” the large type copy above the box reads “Briignite MR16 LED Bulb 5000k Daylight . . .” And when you click on the box to the right that read “Daylight White 5000k” the copy above reads “3000k Soft White.” IGNORE the copy on the boxes below and go by the descriptions at the top.I ordered the 5000k Daylight bulbs to brighten up some studio…
I am using these lights for my outdoor lighting. They are replacing halogen bulbs that have a very limited life span of 250 hours. It is a chore to replace the halogen bulbs every season, and I am thrilled with the idea of using a bulb that will last for 5 to 10 years. True to the advertisement, the color is in the 3K range. My fixture uses GU10 bulbs. These are MR16 or GU5.3, so they did not fit in my fixture. There seems to be an adapter if the bulb is GU5.3 (MR16) to allow it to fit into the GU10 socket, but not the other way around. I thought I could replace my halogen bulb with this as LED bulbs because the LED bulb will produce the same amount of light as the halogen bulb while using 85% less power, but I wasn’t able to do it.
