Buzz on dimmers Final Update 9/12/17:I wanted to update this review one last time. I have a total of ten of these lights in my home now, two without dimmer switches in a foyer and hallway, one set of six on an ELV dimmer in a room, and one set of two on a C.L. dimmer in a hallway. I am doing new construction on a 140 sq ft three house. The ceiling is 6″x3/4″thick pine tongue and groove. Just cut a hole with a hole saw, run the wires through, nicely stuff the wire nuts into the J-box on top, and done. 5 minutes per light, tops. I used four outside in the overhang soffit for the porch lights. They are so bright, I could have used just two. Four of them are ridiculously bright. These are easy to install. I used a 4″ hole saw and they fit very well. I was putting these into the ceiling with an unheated attic above, so I didn’t rely on just the gasket to seal it to the ceiling, the gasket alone didn’t seem quite airtight. I used some silicone caulk around the flange.The magnetic trim works very well and is quite secure.The lights have a nice color, are very bright, and dim pretty well when using a Lutron Caseta dimmer.
