I purchased these little lanterns for my two sons, who love to “camp” in their bedrooms under their beds or in hastily made forts. Very good quality lamps which are very bright. I would say that one lamp for a power outage is enough as it’ll cover the largest of the rooms. It’s too bright for camping but that’s where the ability to close the lamp to only allow the required amount of light to escape. On partially closing, I noticed that the leds that are not exposed any more don’t shut off – not a big deal, but you are not saving battery when the lamp is not being used at full lumen capacity.
