The Gama Sonic Peking GS-52S-G solar lamp post with one lamp head is the perfect energy-saving and money-saving replacement for outdated electric or gas-powered outdoor lighting. Standing 77 inches tall from finial to base, the rust-resistant cast-aluminum lamp post and lamp head with a powder-coated black finish requires no electrical wiring for installation. The included EZ-Anchor base makes setup tool-free with no digging or cement required. Just put the Peking GS-52SG in the ground where you want it, and let the sun do the rest. The Peking’s internal Lithium Ion battery pack charges when sunlight hits any of the lighting fixture’s four integrated solar panels. At dusk, nine bright-white LEDs will turn on automatically and shine at a brightness of 120 lumens. Gama Sonic’s patented cone reflector enhances the glow and multidirectional light dispersal. The unit is designed for dusk-to-dawn operation after its battery has been fully charged during the day. Gama Sonic products are both highly functional and durable. The Peking’s monocrystalline silicon solar panels are protected by weather-resistant, cleanable tempered glass that helps ensure long-lasting reliability. The light’s replaceable, plugged battery pack is good for about 1,000 charges. With proper setup for optimal sun exposure, a sunny day without cloud cover should be sufficient to provide a full recharge. Recharging speed will vary based on weather conditions, but no charging will occur if direct sun does not shine on the solar panels. Do not locate the lamp post in a shaded area. Heed the reviewers warnings…For decoration only! The advertising is deceiving. Even after reading others reviews I decided to go ahead and try this product out. I bought 3 of these solar post lamp and although the concept of the manufacture is a good one, there could be much improvement on the LED’s.A prime example is they give you all the tools to drive it into the ground and easily assemble it but when you are done, you are left with a wobbly post with a very dim light output. A piece of crap!
Gives enough light to illuminate steps that were in the dark. The screw base refused to penetrate our heavy soil until I soaked the hole with water for a few hours. Then it was easy. A few weeks later, high winds may have caused it to lean a few degrees from the vertical, but it still looks OK, unless you’re an engineer. Overall, it’s a nice looking lamp. Or a dark gloomy day it did not get much of a charge, and only worked for a few hours. Otherwise it stay on until dawn.Ten months…
