The Gama Sonic Prairie solar outdoor light fixture model GS-114FPW is an energy-saving and money-saving replacement for electric or gas-powered outdoor lighting. This solar light with a Mission design makes a stylish addition to your home’s exterior. It includes all the hardware for three styles of mounting: as a wall sconce; on flat surfaces, such as pillars or columns; or at the top of a three-inch-diameter lamp post (post not included). No electrical wiring is required. The Prairie’s replaceable NiMH battery pack charges when sunlight hits the fixture’s integrated, plastic-laminated solar panel. At dusk, five warm-white LEDs will turn on automatically and shine at a brightness of 50 lumens. Gama Sonic’s patented cone reflector enhances the light output and glow. The fixture is designed for dusk-to-dawn performance after it’s battery has been fully charged during the daytime. With proper setup for optimal sun exposure, a sunny day without cloud cover should be sufficient to provide a full recharge. Recharging speed will vary based on weather conditions, but no charging will occur if direct sun does not shine on the solar panel. Do not locate the light fixture in a shaded area. At Gama Sonic, our goal is to build the world’s best solar lights. Nice look but low light output. I did a lot of searching for a set of solar pillar lights to go at the end of our driveway. We have pillars but were waiting to run power to them until we evaluated the solar options. After reviewing these and reading through the comments, they seemed like they would fit the bill so I bought two of them.Assembly and installation were a breeze. We have a 3″ coupling on top of the pillars and these fit perfectly. From unboxing to mounting took less than 15 minutes. It was that…
So far very pleased with these lanterns. Recommend for lighting a small area. While initially happy with this product I am now very unhappy. I bought two in May and installed them a couple weeks later at my front gate. They worked beautifully for about a month or so and then we noticed that one of them was on all the time. On further investigation we discovered that rain water had some how managed to get in and the motherboard or circuit board was all rusted up – shortly afterwards it stopped working altogether – of course the return window was up. An outdoor product…
