The Gama Sonic GS-80 solar LED illuminated address sign makes home addresses visible day or night with bright green light. The GS-80 can accommodate addresses up to five characters in length; it comes standard with three of each number 0-9 plus the letters N, S, E, W. Contact Gama Sonic directly if the kit doesn’t have the right combination of numbers to support your address. The GS-80 is made of weather-resistant poly-resin and comes with hardware and instructions for ground and wall installation. No wiring is necessary. Just set it up, and let the sun charge the included solar-chargeable AA batteries via the sign’s integrated solar panel. The address sign’s five LEDs are designed to illuminate automatically from dusk to dawn if the batteries have received a full solar charge. When the batteries are run down, it takes a day’s worth of sunlight on the solar panel to achieve a full recharge. With proper setup for optimal sun exposure, a sunny day without cloud cover should be sufficient to provide a full recharge. Recharging speed will vary based on weather conditions, but no charging will occur if direct sun does not shine on the solar panel, so do not install the address sign in the shade. At Gama Sonic, our goal is to build the world’s best solar lights. For any unexpected issues, Gama Sonic support at our Atlanta headquarters is here to help. Very bright but not very durable Directions state to place in the sun to charge the unit. When I did this, the numbers warped, cracked and became distorted. You get three sets of numbers with the unit. I tried again, removing the thin film on the numbers. Same result. I called Gama Sonic directly and told them the problem I was having. The operator said she would send out a new set of numbers. It has been over two weeks and I have yet to receive the new numbers or called by Gama Sonic. Having said all of this, save your money…
Really easy to see from street, about 30 feet or more. Illuminates in red. Charged it when it was snowing on and off, not much sun that week. Charged with no problem. Would buy again.Update: It illuminates in green not red. My mistake.update 10/18/16. Worked for about 2 years. The material for the numbers get distorted and then quit illuminating.
