Lights have been on 24/7 since I purchased back in January 2018. Plants also been responding and growing slowly. I read online that having too much lights would damage the plants but did tried leaving it on anyway because this is a low wattage LED. Thus far things are working well. I did not started new seeds so not sure how that goes but based on the grow rate on the existing plants, I say it would be quite a stretch. Works pretty good for starting seedlings.. I made a tinfoil tube the same diameter as the outside of the bulb and placed my small starter pot inside it and put the light over the top…the light does not get hot, but provides enough heat to keep the soil slightly warm for germination. You can raise the light when your seedling sprouts and use it for a week or so before planting outside in the sun, or putting in a grow tent under higher par value lights.
