Disclaimer, I am an amateur / hobbyist. Based on my wire strippers, the red and black wires had a gauge about ~22. Since I need to run roughly 8 amps at 12 volts, this wasn’t sufficient. The plastic casing around the barrel is very large, much larger than various 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel plugs on 12 volt adapter I had laying around the house. As a result, this connector would not fit into the female connector that was attached to my IP67 (weatherproof) HitLight LED strip I purchased.If…
