Almost perfect, sadly the catch can be quite expensive… Excellent, bright natural light. The CRI rating does matter – some other lights I’ve tried have an odd, green hue which LED me to give these a shot (sorry). I have both 2700k and 3000k versions of these bulbs and they are both pleasant and spot on. These lights are very bright and seem true to their 1400 lumen rating.As always, there’s a catch. The reason for the 4 star rating is that the bulbs will buzz noticeably when used with your typical 30 dollar Lutron CL (CFL and LED)…
Work well – preferred the 18W version Remodeling a basement and wasn’t sure which LED bulb so i bought several to compare. The PAR38 light dispersion was too focused for lighting a room – more of a spotlight than a floodlight. Tried a 75W BR40 2700K. The light dispersion was significantly better (120 degrees vs 40 for the PAR38). However, the low “temperature” was too yellow/orange for my taste and the 75W wasn’t enough to adequately light a larger area. This bulb was perfect. I was able to space them 8-10 feet apart…
Flawles, quality lighting for my kitchen. We recently had some recessed lighting installed in our kitchen as a clean-looking primary area lightning alternative to a hanging fixture. To our dismay, the CFL BR40 flood lights we bought; rated 150 watt equivalent, 1200 lumen; were horrible. To achieve the rated luminosity, the color temperature was raised to a blue-white 5000k and the start up brightness was terrible, taking nearly 5 minutes to barely equal our old fixtures.
