no dim or bright spots and it casts a nice cool white look over the pool and pool deck I have a kayak pool and the perimeter fence is approx 110 feet. I had to buy the 150 foot spool and cut it down. Very bright. These lights are great, but know that they are *much* brighter than a similar incandescent rope light. They are also much more white than the main picture would lead you to believe.In the attached picture, the lights at the top are incandescent bulbs while this LED rope light is at the bottom.
