Us electrical code box solution So far I have tested these lights and beginning the install of them now. I have ran into the problem of just laying a bare wire in my attic and not meeting code. I was at Home Depot and found a shallow wall box that is 2 1/2 inches wide allowing them to go through the 3 1/2 inch hole. Space height wise for me is no concern but if you are concerned about the overall height is 6 inches installed on the light fixture. These are led and ran cool during my testing. I am going to adhere the…
These lights are great! 3 These lights are great! 3,000k is a great color. Close to being practical, but here’s why: The hook up to be code compliant to 120v household current is near impossible with this design! These all, no matter the wattage or light output, should be designed to operate on a common low-voltage, say 12vdc or 24vdc, and be operated off a readily available, and cheap, power supply. Routing and connecting the low voltage, especially in a tight confined space, is so much easier with a thin wire, and…
Really good lighting! *****SEE TIP IN MY REVIEW****** Really good lighting! Easy to install. TIP: buy a power supply when you have a lot of these. If you check the power supply (led driver) that comes with it, these indicate that the fixture actually runs on 9.5 Volts. Add up the current based on the quantity, to buy an appropriately sized power supply, and run ALL of them on low voltage. You get the same amount of light (lumens) at the same kelvin temperature (color of the light). In this case it is daylight white or cool white which they assign…
