Slow start and PWM causes spikes. Works great under a steady load. With a steady 5A load it drops to 11V from 12.2V. Not sure what would happen under full load. I got it to drive LED lighting, and it works but there is a 2-3 sec delay on power up. Here is the kicker, it does not like a PWM device connected to it! I was driving the 5A load at 50% duty and was picking up 30+ peak volt spikes. I added a 1,000uf CAP to the output and was able to keep the spikes down.So it works, it’s cheap, not meant for PWM, but can be…
Quality Control, Eh? UPDATE: Got a (mostly) working replacement! UPDATE: Amazon refunded me, and the seller, ezon01, sent me a discounted replacement. The replacement has no damage, and works great. I’ve bumped my review to 4 stars to account for this. Still has a torn QC sticker, which is amusing, but the converter totally works for it’s intended purpose (powering dozens of feet of LED light tape).UPDATE 2:Well, it does work. Mostly. After about 4 hours of use on a relatively light 1.8A load, the 12v power will stop for 30-120 seconds,…
