Gives good light but has a delayed start Went together easily. Construction is a little cheap, but consistent with the lighting industry’s standards. Once it’s up you’ll never notice the sharp edges and sloppy punched holes. The light source is two strips of discreet LEDs, and I was curious if they would show through the lens/diffuser/cover. The light is a nice bright white, not quite daylight. The cover creates a very even wash of light. The LEDs are not replaceable, but that seems to be the standard these days. The cover is kept in…
Bright & Easy to Install I picked up 3 of these: 2 for my garage, and one for the laundry room. The garage units were replacing 2-bulb fluorescent fixtures, and the laundry room unit was replacing a large Circline fixture (with the 16″ + 12″ bulbs). As far as brightness goes, these are FAR better than the previous fixtures! The light quality is also far better – which is the biggest reason I’ve been switching bulbs from fluorescent to LED in the first place. The install was also very…
4.5 stars for a modern 4″ task light. Excellent replacement units for 4 foot CFL’s that light up bright from the start, last a long time, use half the energy and produce little heat. I replaced two units in my garage and it took about 10 minutes working solo. Very easy to install, especially if you can remount in the same wall position, then three wires and you’re done. I installed one first to make sure it worked and to see how bight it was compared to the CFL (two bulbs, 35 watts each). Could have, should have used a light meter…
