I purchased these lights to add some whimsy to my large, outdoor potted plants that sit on my back patio. I am not disappointed in this purchase. When I took them out of the package, they did not light up when turned on and nothing happened. I put the solar charger together (slid the stake into the top portion) and placed it outside in my plant. It took me about a minute to wrap the lights around the palm tree plant. The white rattan balls are about 1 to 1.5″ in diameter and have different color lights in each ball. It worked right out of the box without needing to be charged first.
