EASY ballast replacement bulb and VERY BRIGHT! I cannot believe how easy it was to replace my fluorescent fixtures with these bulbs. Finding 48″ ballasts has become nearly impossible and very expensive. I needed a cost effective replacement and these were a great buy. They are incredibly bright compared to the fluorescent daylight bulbs in my office. I did choose the 5000K option soooooo. I am just not a fan of yellowish light in the office. If you don’t like it VERY bright you may want to choose something in the 4000k color temperature…
Updated; Small fire in tube! I was excited to get these. I am tired of fighting with ballasts. I installed two of the four bulbs I received 1 bulb only half lit at first then the other half came on. The 2 bulbs worked perfectly the rest of the night about 2 hours. Next day turned the lights on again same bulb only half lit up. After about 30 seconds there was a smallFIRE IN THE TUBE! and half the bulb went out before I could get to the switch. Very scary! I am not sure if I want a replacement or just send them all…
So far so good… Over that last year I’ve replace about a dozen old 8′ fluorescent bulbs with these 8′ LED’s, and so far they’ve all worked great. They are very bright and produce enough light that I replace (2) 75W bulbs with just a single LED in the 2 bulb fixtures. The best part is that they come on instantly, even when the shop is cold (45F), and don’t flicker or produce any annoying noise (buzzing) like the fluorescence bulbs (or the ballasts) did. It takes 5-10 minutes initially to rewire the fixture…
