I used to nail clippers to trim the middle tab to look like the stock bulb which I believe was a 9006 I replaced my low breams with these on my 2005 Grand Cherokee. I used to nail clippers to trim the middle tab to look like the stock bulb which I believe was a 9006. It was an easy mod, just a little trimming and it snapped right in. My lights seem like a legitimate 50% brighter and very white opposed to the softer yellowish light from the stock bulbs. I also purchased the 9011s for my highs and my fogs, I haven’t installed them yet but I anticipate needing to do a trim on one or both as well…
Installs easily, works great. I already installed one side with the Philips 9006 headlight that I bought from Kmart in the past 1-2 years(?) for my T. Highlander. Perfect replacements for the 9006 bulb I do a lot of night driving, especially in the winter. So, being able to see the road well is important. My 2010 Chevy Colorado uses the 9006 bulb, so when it was time to replace them, I began my search for the best 9006 replacement and stumbled upon the Philips 9012 HIR2.
