How do you change the modes on this flashlight?
The toggle option occurs if the button is not fully depressed prior to releasing it. The option that was last used when the light was shut off is the option you will start with when turned back on, unless the light is turned on and off in a rapid manner.

Product Desciprtion is unclear, or misleading. Really incredibly bright. I used it just last night as I used a broom to poke/herd a porcupine out of my dog fenced area! I will replace all of my old incandescent flashlights with these. I will order one to use as a headlight on my bicycle- they are definitely that bright and have that wide a beam! Try that with even your big old 3 or 4 D-cell incandescent flashlight! You must have the charger to recharge the battery. And I was easily able to find batteries with much larger ma-hr capacities…
