Dimming on an X-10 lamp module doesn’t work. Otherwise works fine. THE JOB: I bought this to run a set of four LED “puck” type cabinet lights made by Solis. The total load is 32 watts. I suppose I could have bought the lower-power version. I intended to plug this into an X-10 lamp module. Because this is advertised as “Triac dimmable”, and a triac is what the LED lamp modules use for dimming, I thought this should work.THE PROBLEM:The LED lights originally came with a Solis-branded power supply of the same general…
Works, but horrendous buzzing This 50w unit is light and compact, dims very well with no flicker, and I like the fact that it came with an adapter for bare wires at the end of the cord. On full brightness it is silent, and on barely-on it is fairly quiet. Anywhere in between, the buzzing noise is so horrendously loud, I don’t think I’ll be able to use this unless I can build an enclosure for it. The description said in 2017 the unit was updated to eliminate buzzing. Either I got…
Works EXTREMELY well ! I’m a ham radio operator and electronics engineer and I don’t review purchased items unless they stand out. I bought this dimmable power supply so that I could retrofit the 12 volt LED lighting that I put up over our kitchen dining island which had been halogen bulbs controlled by a dimmer switch. The end result is way better than I expected. They dim down low enough now that I can leave them on when going to bed and wanting the area just illuminated enough that someone in the house coming…
