Acrylic Secondary Optical Lens:
Light transmittance is about 92% by using acrylic lens, while using glass lens, light transmittance is lower, because glass lens is thick, about 17% light be absorbed by glass. The lights don’t be underused.
More uniform light be emitted by using secondary optical lens. All lights are gathered at a chip(COB).

Still this is a great light at a decent price This is my first Cob light, not my first Led light. First of all it is bright and has decent spread. It is made with Cree which is top of the line, although newer more eficent chips have been made by Cree, it will be a lot more costly to find those. Still this is a great light at a decent price. Great for growing plants in a planted aquarium, at a reasonable price I have been looking for an alternative to high end LED lights made specifically for plated aquariums. I have a “Kessil A360WE Controllable LED Aquarium Light, Tuna Sun” which produces good light for displaying the tank, but insufficient for providing light for ground cover plants in my 31″ tall aquarium. This is my first full spectrum COB LED as well, and I have to say I feel like I am finally starting to like LED grow lighting. My problem with LED has always been the purple light that most single spectrum boards emit. These CREE COBs have a very pleasant warm light at 3000K/80 CRI. The price is also reasonable for what you get. They are very bright for the size of the unit and the power consumption (~125watts). And I like their looks quite a bit.Can you do better if you DIY?
