Lots of light in a small bulb This is a very solid-feeling, nicely-sized LED bulb that appears to be very high quality. I have been slowly changing out standard and CFL bulbs for LED models over the past 6 months. Until recently I have not found any that can be used in tightly enclosed fixtures. Even in non-tightly-enclosed fixtures, many of the LED bulbs I have purchased have been larger than their old-school equivalent, so I have been unable to use LED bulbs. You can see in the pictures the LARGE old bulb I have in the fixture. Your smaller bulb has same brightness and does not look nasty in the fixture. The new bulb gives excellant light for our purposes. I am going to purchase more to replace these larger bulbs throughout the house. I can tell you now I am impressed with the quality of light and will buy many more soon. The first 2 pictures have my old bulb on left and the smaller replacement on the right. Although these light bulbs are designed to be used in an enclosed fixture I have only used one in my enclosed yard light fixture, the others I will not be using in an enclosed fixture but rather in open sockets in my shop and basement. The lights are very bright, but not blindingly bright, which I like. Apparently there is an internal chip that will regulate the lumen output based off of the temperature of the bulb so that if the bulb gets too hot the chip will tell the bulb to chill out a bit…
