The housing is made of 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish and the glass lens has an anti-reflective coating and is gasket sealed. Its multi-function, push-button tactical tail switch allows for one handed operation of momentary, variable intensity or strobe mode. LED Solid State Power Regulation provides maximum light output throughout battery life. Optimized electronics provides thermal management and regulated intensity. Built for durability, the ProTac HL features an IPX7 rated design, waterproof to 1-meter for 30-minutes, and is 1-meter impact resistance tested. Serialized for positive identification. Powered by three 3-Volt CR123A lithium batteries with a shelf life of 10-years. Dimensions: 7.10-Inch long, 1.0-Inch barrel diameter, 1.64-Inch head diameter, and 1.73-Inch tri-lobe diameter. Weighs 7.10-Ounces with batteries.

The Streamlight Protac HL works well in the end, but not without hastle and more money spent in the begininng.
