Works well in shed application, but kludgy installation My 16×10 shed (8ft ceiling, it’s large and dark) needed some light, it sits about 40 ft from the house and I haven’t yet been able to get electricity out there, so I picked up this light after looking at a few others. The features I liked were the LED light, solar powered, and most importantly, switchable on/off. The solar panel installation was a little kludgy, though. I bought this as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, … I bought this as a Christmas gift. Unfortunately, the recipient did not attempt to install this until July. When the box was opened, it was clear the item had already been previously purchased and returned. The protective film on the solar panel was half torn off and the plastic loop to hang the light from was completely cracked from the top of the light and the broken piece was not even in the box in hopes of glueing it back together.Since so much time has passed, it’s unlikely…
Smaller size shipped The description is for a lamp of 15-3/4 by 12 by 16 inches in size. The one that I was shipped was less than 10 inches in diameter. I’m assuming that two sizes are manufactured, but Northern Tool has the two models mixed up. So, you are charged for the larger one and receive the smaller one. Part of the difference is the cord length, I believe. I haven’t tried it and tried to get a refund on the difference in price, but I was told to return it.
