Avoid. Squeals and overheats on just one LED strip! This is sold by SuperNight, same people who sell the LED strips I used it for. It’s just a PC power supply, rated at 12V 6A. To use with their strips, cut the round plug off.So why one star? Because at 1/3 load (2 amps 12V, or one of their 5-metre white LED strips – I measured the current), it squeals loudly and over-heats. And by the time you learn this, it’s too late because you had to cut the end off the plug. So it isn’t really compatible with what they sell it for…
12V 3A version will power 2Wire 3800HGV/33600HGV-B Residential Gateway Router for ATT U-Verse I did considerable research to ensure I purchased a power supply with the correct specs to power a 2Wire 3800HGV/33600HGV-B Residential Gateway Router for ATT U-Verse (the gateway comes with a Belkin Uninterruptle Power Supply, but like many owners I found that after a few years the UPS went on the fritz — probably needs a new battery, but I don’t need a UPS so I just wanted a regular power supply to replace it). The 12V 3A version of this power supply does indeed work well for this purpose…
