The SYLVANIA SilverStar High Performance Halogen Headlight delivers a brighter and whiter light. SYLVANIA achieves this using a specially design filament, propriety gas mixture as well as a lamp coating that shifts the color temperature towards a whiter light. The combination of downroad, sideroad, and white light produced helps the driver achieve more clarity during night time driving. More clarity can improve contrast and object visibility such as street signs and road hazards.

More/better light … well worth the added cost. 9005 should be the bulb for the “high-beam” position on your headlights (9006 is the one for the low-beam position), and the light provided by these “SilverStar” bulbs it is substantially whiter/brighter, with greater depth of illumination, than the “standard” Sylvania bulb of the same size/configuration. Nice light, but failed in less than 6 months!! I purchased this two pack of silverstar bulbs as replacements for my 2010 Toyota Prius. The light seemed whiter than the stock bulbs, but the old bulbs were also 3 years old. I installed these per instructions of not touching the bulb etc. The first bulb has now burned out after less than 6 months of being installed. Granted I drive 50K miles a year, but 6 months is way too short. Needless to say I am very disappointed the life of the bulb. I will see if Sylvania will warranty them…
