Check the diameter of your stock trim ring if replacing incandescent eyeball trim Since this is a retrofit kit, I would have expected it to be at least close to the same diameter as an incandescent eyeball trim ring, but it is about 3/4″ smaller than a standard Halo 74P eyeball. This is fine for new or nearly new construction but on a 30 year old popcorn ceiling with dirt stains under the original trim ring from air leaks, it is less than ideal.For what its worth, all of the other brands of retrofits (including the Halo kit that is nearly twice the price)…
Easy to install, great light, great value. I bought these to replace standard down lights in my wife’s art studio. She wanted control of the direction of the light. My existing cans (housing) are 6 inches wide. They went in quickly and easily, barely 5 minutes to change 6. There is a screw in adapter to accommodate standard bulb fixtures.
