The Streamlight Protac HL works well in the end, but not without hastle and more money spent in the begininng. I bought this flashlight because I work security detail in an ugly part of my city, and when I need a flashlight, I need it to work consistently every time – because my life could depend on it. Fantastic light AWESOME LIGHT. Just received this light and tested it. It comes with both a CR123A battery, as well as a quality AA battery. Both batteries inserted into the light without issue. Upon inserting the AA, there is a small amount of spring pressure put on the battery in order to close the tail cap, however, it is a non issue.I tried the CR123A battery first and the light worked perfectly.
