Pleasant color temp but a little bright My go-to bulb has been 60-watt GE Reveal incandescent bulbs for many years. These are now ridiculously hard to find, prohibitively expensive, and the quality is absolute crap compared to what they used to be. I get it, the light bulb industry practically invented planned obsolescence and they really want us to start buying LED bulbs so here I am. I’ve been using these in our bedrooms and living room and I’m pleased with them. The color is warmer than the Reveals but works well in these areas…
Good color rendering, dimmability, and price I’ve tried a bunch of LEDs, and I really like these.- Good color rendering: CRI is 91 and R9 (deep red) of 51, both very good for LED. (You can search for the energystar.gov page for more info.) When I tested it, I noticed reds were extremely deep on both the palm of my hand and red objects. I might even go as far to say they slightly over-emphasize the reds, but I think I’m just too used to lower-CRI LEDs. (On the other hand, CREE TW doesn’t “feel” as red, but the very deep reds…
