My residential steam boiler had a low water cutoff and a tiny LED that would light when water got dangerously low–no audible alarm. This unit solved that problem quickly and affordably. The 24VAC Mcdonnell & Miller control had leads for powering either an automatic filler or an alarm (like this one), but neither had ever been installed.
