Replacing the energy efficient, but older compact fluorescent lights (CFL) with LED lights has always made me thankful for the many improvements in LEDs, starting with the instant-on, full-brightness that CFL’s didn’t have, and the slight edge in energy efficiency. When we built our home back in the day, we made sure that all our light fixtures took the same kind of bulb; but since then we’ve had to remodel our two latest homes so now we have a mixture of old and new light fixtures so we have to keep a variety of bulbs on hand.
