No left or right, just right. Bought these to mount on my 98 zj as flood light at my mirrors. When I went to install them I noticed that the bulge where the wire leave the light is on the same side. Since I used the fender mounts, i sits fine on the drivers side. However, the passenger side runs the hood when opening or closing. I gave it 4 stars for that reason. no mounting ability for most applications. Unless you have a steel bumper, there is no way to attach the unit to the car/truck. Most bumpers are now plastic with an inner steel bumper not reachable without taking off the plastic bumper…a huge undertaking, even for a gear head like me. No less than 24 fasteners and bolts hold it on. Then, you need to be a fabricator to build an extension from the inner steel bumper to reach out to the front of the vehicle.
