Really good lamp. This was like the old days when you opened the package and inside was more than you expected instead of light weight plastic that worked but you wondered for how long. This lamp is metal with a glass lens. It is solidly built, well balanced, and stays where I position it. The magnification is just right for working on things like jewelry or watches. Great lighted magnifier – just be careful when adjusting angle of lens. I use this for cross stitching. It works great. I have it clamped to my Lowery stand. The arm keeps it’s position. Good area of magnification – the 2.25X allows me to work on 36 count linen. LEDs are wonderful! Really lights up whatever you’re trying to view. I don’t need my overhead Ottlight when using this. Usable lens area significantly less than 5″ Note: my review is on a product that wasn’t completely unpacked.The first thing checked before full unpacking was the magnification/lens and that was a complete disappointment. Yes, the lens is 5″ and provides magnification; however, the usable area of the 5″ lens is about half that with significant distortion beyond a 2.5″ circumference.
