CRAZY BRIGHT! i didnt recieve these for free or at a discount and my review is completely unbiased. these are crazy bright at 12volts. i wasn’t expecting the brightness and was staring right at it when i lit it up. i think it took a half hour or more before i started getting my vision back. i hooked up a digital multimeter and using a 12 volt auto battery (measured at 12.67 volts) at full brightness i measured 1.64 amps, or 20.78 watts. a previous reviewer said he measured 2.6 watts at 12 volts? not sure how…
Great for lighting up a car trunk
I installed these as under-hood lights in my Jeep and they work perfectly for that. They’re bright and run cool when each is in series with a 3.3 ohm current limiting resistor (needed since automotive 12V is up to 14+V when the engine is running). Soldering lead wires onto them was a breeze, although I had to set my iron to a much higher heat than normal due to the aluminum backing plate acting as a heatsink.
