Let me shed some light on the situation. Man what a struggle it was to find the correct replacement for the night and hood light under my microwave. Originally the bulb was a T8 and it actually said 60w. I replaced them because I’m converting my whole house to LED lighting and wasn’t going to overlook a couple 60w bulbs that cook all night. Reduce wattage & Eliminate Heat – Brighten Your Stove-Top Much Brighter than those Wasteful Incandescent 40 watt appliance bulbs and only uses 5 watts. No heat either unlike the old school Incandescents. I leave it on high at night for night time illumination in the house. Low makes a medium hertz flicker but at 5 watts on high, who is going to complain. Came in a 2-pack but my Whirpool overhead microwave/venthood only takes 1 but that is all it needs.
